SEVERALS WOODS MIDHURST
10 October 2018
Midhurst, West Sussex

A couple of shots from Severals Woods last week... Misty, moody, gloomy and yet extremely colourful! I'd never spotted this clearing in the woods before but with the bracken turning yellow it leapt out against all the grey and sombre tones around it. I was drawn to it like a moth to a light!
Commercial pine forests can be so sterile. The light doesn't reach the forest floor but this little patch, deep in the woods has its own pool of light and BOOM the bracken has taken over and for just a couple of days in October it's a sea of bright green and yellow. Delicious on the eye!
Just imagine what you might see if you go down to the woods today. Do it now. Or do it tomorrow. Or both. (No judgements here).
